We are glad to announce that Perfect Privacy is funding and supporting a security audit of the OpenVPN code base. The audit is performed by the Open Source Technology Improvement Fund (OSTIF) who previously did a code audit of VeraCrypt, the de-facto successor of TrueCrypt.

We have added new servers in the USA to our server-park. They are located in the cities Dallas, Miami and Los Angeles. The server in Dallas is connected with a bandwidth of 1 Gbps and has 6 IPv4 and IPv6 addresses available. The server in Miami also is connected with a bandwidth of 1 Gbps and has 12 IPv4 and IPv6 addresses available. The server in Los Angeles is connected with a bandwidth of 1 Gbps and has 7 IPv4 and IPv6 addresses available. The server in Brisbane (Australia) has been exchanged. The new VPN server in Melbourne (Australia) is connected with a bandwidth of 100 Mbps (instead of 10 Mbps before in Brisbane) and has 16 IPv4 and IPv6 addresses available. In order for a VPN software to work properly, it needs to have full access to networking since it has to be able to add and remove routes. If the VPN software provides additional firewall/dns leak protection, like the Perfect Privacy VPN Manager, it will also need to have full access to the Windows Firewall: To prevent IP or DNS leaks it is necessary to add corresponding firewall rules. Additionally, firewall rules are needed to ensure that traffic can only be sent through the encrypted VPN tunnel.
