Dear Members,
On March 10th we will perform maintenance tasks which require downloading new OpenVPN configuration files.
During this maintenance we will change the pattern of the server’s names in our serverpark and in OpenVPN will be a change regarding HMAC. Up to now HMAC in OpenVPN uses 128bit SHA1 and we will adjust the values there. The change in the server’s naming pattern affects the Gigabit servers: On request by our members we will discontinue to name the “Gigabit” and instead follow the naming convention according to location, like all other servers.
We will perform the maintenance as quickly as possible. If everything runs as planned you will notice that OpenVPN won’t connect anymore, but after downloading the new configuration files you will be able to reconnect immediately, so that you won’t have any significant downtime.
Users of our new OpenVPN client can just use the “Update”-Button in the client to get the new configuration files. Users of the old OpenVPN client will have to download the configuration files for their respective operating system from our Members Area and replace the old ones with them.
If you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us by mail or in the forum.
Sincerely your Perfect Privacy Team
